The German Research Project NIOS (Nachhaltige Innovation im Outdoor Sport/ Sustainable Innovation in Outdoor Sports) is introduced in this Workshop session summarizing some results of the Innovation Projects so far. New materials and new technologies relevant for Sustainable Innovations in the Outdoor Sports sector will be discussed from solar energy technology to mini fuel cells, from bio plastics and bio fibre composite materials to eco textiles etc. covering product service systems as well.

Then the participants will be challenged to brainstorm together in multi disciplinary groups, where the interesting fields and potentials for sustainable innovation in their own companies with their own product types are.
