build a chariot from bamboo
In this workshop participants will build a bicycle trailer from bamboo, while exploring ideas around designing viral products.
The Bamboo Trailer is embodied by a set of free construction plans, to help provide cheep cargo transport to anyone. Using a hammer drill and a saw anyone can create a cargo trailer for whatever they want, in our case chariots for a race.
Viral Products distribute and sell themselves. The Bamboo Trailer is an extreme example of this, but the ideas of creativity, simplicity and individual responsibility are widely applicable. During the workshop participants can explore these principles and how they relate to other industries.
Each of our two workshops aims to construct one bicycle trailer. There may be an opportunity to race these two trailers together after the workshops.
The participants in this workshop will be challenged to build a bicycle trailer themselves out of bamboo.
