drivers of change - the business case for sustainability

"I am a professor of a discipline that did not exist when I went to college," says L. Hunter Lovins about her professorship at the Presidio World College. Her research in sustainable management opened a complete new field of science were she developed a masterplan and various principles.

Ecosystem visionary L. Hunter Lovins outlines a scenario of ‘Radical Resource Efficiency’. This first principle leads to a growing number of profitable solutions for various environmental challenges. ‘Design for Sustainability’ is her second principle where she outlines innovative design principles such as Biomimicry, Cradle to Cradle and other forms of green design which enable designers to harness nature’s wisdom to drive innovations.

The third principle is ‘Manage for Prosperity and Sustainability’. Here the emerging practice of Sustainable Management is the key factor to restore, enhance and sustain the natural and human capital which is needed for continuing financial prosperity. Competitive advantage is the result.
