about German Design Council

The German Design Council is the german competence center for design. Institutionalized by resolution of the German Bundestag 1953, its essential task is to promote German Design national and internationally as well as to inform economics and the public about the development and the perspectives of the discipline. The largest German Design library, an extensive product photo collection as well as an international information and contact network form the backbone for the authority promise of the institution.

The services of the German Design Council include: - Planning and organising design competitions - Planning and organising exhibitions and trade-fair presentations - Research into design-relevant subjects on behalf of clients from industry, teaching and the media - Initial advice for companies in the field of strategic design planning - Development of communication concept for portraying the client's design expertise.
