The Swedish company’s new Receptor was developed for multidisciplinary activities. It is for consumers who are thinking practically and with the environment in mind — and who don’t want to store a range of helmets for various sports activities at home.

The Receptor helmet is aimed towards the X-games community, where individuals practice numerous and different disciplines. The challenge was to develop a high-quality helmet designed and engineered to work and to be certified within both the European Union and the United States that is also suited to use in different disciplines — from skiing and snowboarding to bicycling, skateboarding and water sports.

The trickiest challenge in developing the helmet was to meet the diverse certification requirements of various sports. POC succeeded by merging the two technologies of in-mold helmets and traditional hard-shell helmets — and by using a unique double-shell system (VDSAP).

The result is a single helmet (instead of three to five) that works for everything, with superb and long-lasting quality, a high degree of protection and certification under both EU and US standards.

The helmet is also seasonally versatile, employing padding inserts to keep you warm during winter sports. The inserts are easily removed in the summer for full ventilation.
