product description

Finisterre is a small surfing company from the United Kingdom that operates by the following principle: Sustainability is key — infinite growth and finite resources just don’t mix. Recycling goes without saying, and everything they do is sustainable. Finisterre is now working to achieve perfect transparency and eventually bring all manufacturing to the UK by 2010.

Finisterre’s Storm Tracks jacket is made from a fabric that lasts three times longer than any conventional membrane found on today’s market. They’ve also managed to manufacture it in such a way that the user can depend on a 10-year service warrantee. Because the fabric is polyester-based, they’ve avoided one of the most environmentally detrimental manufacturing processes.

With that step, and by increasing the Storm Track’s life span and removing taped seams — which are added in a step that’s extremely bad for the environment — Finisterre argue that they have the greenest breathable waterproof garment on the market.
