product description

After more than 30 prototypes, the French brand Atua Cores has succeeded in designing better surfboards by introducing the use of expanded polystyrene, epoxy resins and wood. Atua surfboards are made from recyclable, non-toxic and local products, carefully chosen to meet our environmentally conscious needs. Their production is ruled by Atua’s minimum waste and maximum recycling policy. Very little waste is generated, unlike in the traditional surfboard-making processes. Furthermore, Atua claims their products are of high quality and designed to be very long lasting.

They use wood as the core of sandwich skins, which means a dramatic reduction in the amount of fibreglass and resin used as well as a reduction in the density of the inner foam core. The natural origin of the materials supports the sustainable development policy with which the range has been created. At the end of its long lifetime, the product can be disassembled and its recyclable components recycled.

Atua is a member of the “1% for the Planet” Association since March 2007, meaning a minimum of 1% of sales is donated to an environmental organization.
