The “Wasteland” is the first Arbor board in which an EcoTechnology used to improve the board performance and style has also become part of the graphic. For years Arbor wanted to design a board using marquetry, an ancient technique that creates pictorial mosaics out of inlaid, usually exotic materials such as wood, precious metal, mother-of-pearl, etc. Today marquetry is used in high-end guitars and furniture, adding a level of design that turns materials into art.

The new 2009 Wasteland uses five separate types of real wood veneer to create an image that speaks about the environment, our need to protect it and the results if we do nothing. The natural variance of real wood grain in Arbor’s wood topsheets creates a one-of-a-kind look. All of the materials used to produce Arbor's exclusive wood top technologies are obtained from suppliers who produce their wood products sustainably.
