Andrej Kupetz studied industrial design, philosophy and product marketing in Berlin, London and Paris. He worked as Design Manager for the Deutsche Bahn Medien GmbH, and also taught as visiting professor at the University of Arts in Berlin and was Director at the Zollverein School, Essen.

Since 1999, Kupetz has been Managing Director and Technical Manager of the German Design Council, Frankfurt. Under his leadership, the institution has become one of the world’s leading competence centers for communication and know-how transfer in the design field. Today, the German Design Council’s donors include 140 of Germany’s leading companies.
